CHAMPVA Mental Health Care for Military Families
We proudly care for spouses and dependent children covered by the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA). As a licensed Florida clinical practice, our team provides compassionate, personalized therapy with zero balance billing.
Mental Health Care Centered on Your Family
We understand the unique transitions, resilience, and stressors experienced by military families. We make starting therapy simple, supportive, and accessible from your very first conversation.
Therapeutic Play for Children
Led by Dr. Bethany R. Russell, a Therapeutic Play Specialist, we offer evidence-based therapeutic play for children ages 4–12, helping young kids process stress, big emotions, and life changes naturally through play.
Adolescent & Individual Therapy
Compassionate counseling for teens and military spouses experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, caregiver fatigue, or life transitions, using evidence-based cognitive and relational approaches.
Transparent & Protected
By federal rule, our practice accepts assignment on all CHAMPVA claims. This protects you from surprise medical bills—we accept the CHAMPVA allowable rate as payment in full.
Under VA guidelines aligning with Federal Mental Health Parity, CHAMPVA outpatient therapy visits are not restricted by artificial annual session limits or preauthorization delays. You and your clinician decide the care cadence that is clinically appropriate for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need pre-approval from CHAMPVA before my first appointment?
No. Under current VA parity standards, outpatient mental health visits do not require prior authorization. We verify your active member status before your first clinical session.
Will I receive unexpected bills after my sessions?
No. We strictly abide by federal assignment rules. We accept the CHAMPVA allowable rate as payment in full. You are never balance-billed for covered therapy services.
Can both children and adults receive care?
Yes. We provide play therapy and pediatric counseling for young children, as well as individual psychotherapy and counseling for military spouses and adolescents.
What if I have Medicare or another insurance plan as well?
That coordinates seamlessly. We bill your primary plan first, and CHAMPVA wraps around as secondary to cover remaining copayments or deductibles, leaving zero out-of-pocket balance in most circumstances.
